Today is December 25th on the Julian Calendar. Russia did not switch from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar until 1918, and the Russian Orthodox Church still celebrates Christmas according to the old calendar.
Today (on the Gregorian calendar) is also the Birthday of Millard Fillmore, 13th President of the United States; Flag Day in Italy; and Pioneers Day in Liberia.
