'These Tattered Flags'
The National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is currently showing a special exhibit on flags in American history. The temporary exhibition includes flags ranging from a hand-held parade flag sewn by Betsy Ross? granddaughter, to a large, sixteen-foot U.S. Navy Ensign made at the United States Navy Yard in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Other notable inclusions are an Army of Tennessee Battle Flag, loaned by the Pioneer Historical Society and the Borough of Bedford, Pennsylvania, a Know Nothing Flag and a Confederate first national flag.
The exhibit will close at the end of December.
Brown County, Indiana, adopts flag
"With the theme of 'Peaceful Valley' prominently displayed amid a montage of local icons, designers of a Brown County community flag recently unveiled their final product."

India okays national flag display
Sportsmen representing India will now be able to freely display the flag of India on their uniforms without fear of prosecution. However, the display of the flag on underwear and pillowcases is still prohibited.
